MATBUS Fares

MATBUS offers many fare types for passenger convenience. 30-Day Tickets and Smartcards allow passengers unlimited rides on the MATBUS system for 30 days from the date the ticket/card was first used. 14-Day Tickets allow passengers unlimited rides for 14 days from the date the ticket was first used. 10-Ride Tickets are good for 10 separate one-way trips on MATBUS regardless of how many transfers are needed to reach your destination.

Passengers who may qualify for the discounted fare include youth (ages 5 to 18) senior citizens (age 60+) and passengers with disabilities who have submitted and have been approved for a special user card. Guaranteed Ride Home

The Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) provides assurance to the MATBUS 30-day pass holders that there will be a ride home provided if the employee is asked to work an unexpected overtime shift, in the event of a personal emergency or illness or unexpected major interruption of MATBUS service. To be eligible for the Guaranteed Ride Home, the applicant must be a regular MATBUS rider with a 30-day pass and actively using MATBUS as their principle method of commuting to and from a place of employment.

 

If a Guaranteed Ride Home should become necessary, the GRH should first make arrangements for a ride home using a local taxi company. The GRH participant will pay for the taxi ride, complete the form for reimbursement found on the back of this sheet, and mail the form and taxi receipt to MATBUS. The maximum reimbursement for the costs of transportation for an eligible trip is up to $20.00. There will be two (2) Guaranteed Ride Home requests honored per calendar year per person using the following guidelines:

* Personal emergency
* Transportation to home or vehicle
* Transportation costs up to $20.00
* Unexpected interruption of MAT Service (accident, bomb threat, fire, or system shut down)

* Scheduled Overtime
* Unauthorized personal leave
* Medical or personal appointments
* Transportation to an alternate address
* Transportation costs exceeding $20.00
* MAT delays due to trains, weather, or traffic
* Passenger arriving at the bus stop late
* Transportation costs without a receipt
